Why Google Calendar?
We use Google Calendar to send out calendar invites. This is awesome because once you accept the event via your email, your recurring men's team meeting will be in your calendar every two weeks. This event has the Zoom meeting link which makes it easy to sign on.
We need the correct email for your calendar
To provide you event reminders, we will add your email address into your Men's Team meeting even in our Google Calendar.
You must give us the proper email address that works with your calendar if you want it to show in your calendar.
If your calendar is set up with bob@gmail.com and you give us the email address bob@work.com, the event won't appear in your ical or outlook. A lot of people use one email address for correspondance, but their calendars are set up to sync with a different email address.
You must accept the calendar invitation in your email
Keep your eyes open for an email from Google Calendar titled something along the lines of "Men's Team Invite" and then hit "yes":
Once you do this, this event should show up on the calendar on your phone or computer.
Old event invitations
One of the few downsides to Google Calendar invites is that we can't update the meeting details in the calendar event on your phone / computer. Those details basically continue on forever until you delete the event OR accept an update/cancellation notice from us via Google Calendar.
This event update email is a good example. Notice the word "update" and the explanation of what changed:
